At LCB Group we are highly experienced in delivering retrofitting works to PAS2035 standards
LCB is working in partnership with many of our clients delivering retrofit works across south Wales and southern England. We have supported several of our clients through SHDF and Optimised Retrofit funding applications, with provision of costing data, and worked with clients through pilot development stages to support development of their retrofitting strategy.
Our knowledge and experience of delivering an excellent high-quality service for our clients is complimented by our direct labour approach, employing our own highly skilled workforce, and trusted long-term supply chain specialists, supported by PAS2030 and MCS accreditation. This ensures a PAS2035 compliant delivery which achieves all funding requirements.
We currently carry out retrofitting works for a range of clients including – Cardiff Council, Linc Cymru, Cardiff University, Caredig Housing Association, Ateb, Pobl, amongst many more. Additionally, we have carried out several EPC A new build projects, which have involved installation of carbon reduction measures to meet the required performance standard, for clients such as Taff Housing and Merthyr Valleys Homes.
Expertise
We understand how overwhelming the prospect of carrying out retrofitting works can be. There is no argument that the works need to be completed to ensure the UK meets its carbon neutral commitments by 2050. But the requirements of achieving PAS2035 compliancy can seem complex and daunting.
To help support our clients through the process, we have delivered a programme of retrofit upskilling training with the Retrofit Academy, to all our senior staff. All our senior leaders and RLOs have completed Level 2 Understanding Domestic Retrofit, and contract management staff have completed/are completing Retrofit Assessor or Retrofit Coordinator courses, dependant on their job role. This has engendered a deep understanding of the requirements of PAS2035 and we have adapted our internal contract management systems to support the process via use of technology to demonstrate compliancy.
We have also upskilled our directly employed trades with approved manufacturer training across a wide variety of retrofitting components to ensure compliant installation, further supported by PAS2030/MCS and TrustMark status for these elements. This means we have a directly employed workforce ‘ready to go’ to support work delivery, supported by our long-term supply chain specialists and PAS/MCS accredited subcontract partners.
Aftercare
On all our retrofit refurbishments and EPC A builds, we carry out detailed handover sessions with our customers to ensure they are happy with the works completed, and know how to operate their new installation. Our RLOs are Retrofit Academy trained in Understanding Domestic Retrofit, and our Customer First ethos means we won’t leave customers until we are fully satisfied that they are comfortable with using their new install. We book several follow up post-install visits as well, to see if anything needs checking or adjusting, and to gather feedback, ensuring we capture those vital lessons learnt. We leave customers with handover packs, detailing all this information, and how to contact us in the unlikely event of a defect.
We operate an efficient defects management process, administered via our directly employed helpdesk, providing 24/7/365 support for defects management. Having our own directly employed defects team means we can offer an unrivalled service for clients, with speedy resolution to any issues, and a lessons learnt approach taken to reduce recurrence.
