Project Description

In September 2022, we were successful in the retender for the DLO support to Bristol’s repairs, voids and planned maintenance works. The north west lot, which we were awarded, is the largest geographical area, and also has the highest density of Bristol managed properties. Bristol has an incredibly wide variety of property archetypes, both traditional and non-traditional (both steel frame, insitu concrete and concrete panels dating from the 20th century) as well as a large number of mid and high rise blocks, and Victorian/Edwardian/Georgian street properties bought via private sale and converted into multi-home properties, plus traveller sites and garages. All of these property types fall within our remit for this contract. Additionally asbestos, or risk of ACMs, is widespread throughout the stock. This is in addition to working within one of the most diverse communities in the south west of England.

Social value and community investment were a priority during the tender process, and we have to demonstrate social return on investment for all contracts over £25K. We have developed a programme of activities and report back to Bristol monthly, via the Social Value Portal. We have focused on recruitment and retention of employees within our first year activities. We have carried out targeted recruitment in Bristol’s more deprived postcodes (dictated by Bristol) and a focus on most employees working on the contract, living in BS1-BS16 postcode areas. We are also carrying out several community projects, and working with Bristol to see where we can support their tenants through the cost-of-living crisis, and we made a donation to Missing Link women’s mental health services in December 2022.
